Teen Glam Room

Here are some of the ideas that my oldest daughter has for her new room. She really wants grey and a chevron wall. The white and black heart bedding from Pottery Barn is something that she has fallen in love with. We are going to chalk board paint her closet doors, hang some twinkle lights and make sure she has a large memo board for all her photos. So many great ideas and I love the peachy pink accent color she has chosen as well.

Ideas:

1. Chevron
2. Chalk board
3. X-Large memo board
4. Twinkle Lights
5. Puddled curtains
6. Gray and pink
7. Make-up Vanity
8. Pottery Barn Teen Heart Bedding
9. Teen Glam
10. Luxury and hipster

Cloe's Butterfly Little Girls Inspiration Board

Cloe is only 3.5 and although her ideas for her room change by the second I really like the idea of brighter colors. She is not longer a baby so those super pale pastel colors are not really fitting. One of her most recent ideas is a butterfly room, and I love it.

She is not sure if she wants blue or pink walls, but she wants pink, aqua, blue, and white. Butterfly garlands or a wall installation of butterflies. I can't wait to get this all together for her!

Ideas:

1. Bright pink, aqua, and and blue
2. Butterfly bedding
3. Accent wall with frames or her name
4. Banner / pennants
5. Mobile and or hanging butterflies
6. More organized
7. A completed theme
8. Chalk board painted closet doors
9. New dresser
10. A place that Cloe wants to play in

My Living Room Inspiration Board

I love creating inspiration boards it helps me to see if all my ideas are lining up to create the perfect room.
I'm thinking of a eclectic / rustic living room. I don't want a log cabin or hunters retreat, just touches of rustic here and there.

There are also some difficulties to the living room in the house that we are purchasing there is really only one wall the flat screen can he hung (of course my hubby thinks this should be the focal point of the room LOL), there is a fireplace with an insert that is not flush, and on the opposite wall is the breakfast bar for the kitchen. I'm still not sure about what colors because I don't want it to be too dark and I love lighter/brighter colors as accents.

So here are some of my ideas:

One of the other problems that you might be able to tell is my husband really likes darker warmer tones and I like things a little lighter. Combining these two is the goal.

So tell me what to y'all think?

House Purchasing Headaches

When my husband and I purchased our first home almost 8 years ago I was a loan processor, we had our real estate agent and I did the loan work. There was very little stress in the whole process. I was able to check on it every day and knew where it was in every stage. Well...let me tell you what, this time around it's completely different. I have never been this stressed!!!!!

Our offer was accepted almost two weeks ago, pest and home inspections done and are clear, the appraisal is done and is good. We are going with a USDA loan and I have no idea where we are or how it looks. We talked to our finance guy and he said we won't even know until a couple days before we are to sign our final loan documents if the loan is good or not. WHAT? So that means we could get all the way to the end of this stressful process and potentially not get the house because of the financing. That is crazy, my anxiety is through the roof. Please someone bring me a zanax.

Meanwhile we are starting to look at kitchen cabinets, carpet, and paint. Am I crazy, going to get my hopes up? I hope not, I pray every day that if it we are doing the right thing and its God's will that we live in this house that He please please please let everything go smoothly.

Here are a few pictures of the house in its current state, changes will be made! There may be a slow down in my bible study posts to every other day for the next couple months as we move and work on the house.

If you like the daily devotion please make sure to comment or send me a quick email, so I can take that into consideration as I make plans for future studies.

Mother's Day Wish List

As something fun for the weekend I used Polyvore.com to make a board of all the items that I'm wishing for this Mother's Day. I never really make lists of the things I want, and these are items that I would never buy myself.

What are you wishing for this Mother's Day?

Stacking Stones

During the 25th anniversary celebration at my church each family received a stone. We were told to place it somewhere where we could see it each day and be reminded that God is always there and will provide all the help we need. I love this living stone tradition and placed our families stone on my mantle with other nature items that we have collected as a family.

During the parting of the River Jordan God said to collect 12 stones from the middle of the sea and stack them on the other side so that when their children asked about them they could tell the story of God's greatness. There are many cultures that stack stones.

This is still a tradition among the people of Israel to stack stones. These stacked stones act as a reminder of something great that God has done. Often the children and grandchildren will come across these stacks and ask "what do these stones means?" and the adults can tell the story that goes with each stack.

In some places in scripture, a stone is used to describe strength and resiliency in a person's character. How great would it be to look out into your yard or garden and see stones that represent not only the great things that God has provided you with, but also the strength that you have in hard times.

I am going to try and get my family involved by making stacks in our garden. Maybe stacks or maybe we can add 1 stone and build a wall or walkway.

I've Got To Tell You Something...I'm A Home Decor Addict

I had to write you a quick little post to tell you a secret. I'm a home decor addict. LOL Do you ever watch movies and follow the background more than the story line? I do. I'm watching You've Got Mail right now and I keep looking at all the great home decor in the background.

Look at that clock and the little chippy table in the background. Uhhh I love it. And why can't my library / local bookstore look like The Little Store Around The Corner?

The funniest part is I love home decor so much, but if you come to my house there really is very little that I have decorated with. I can't wait to purchase my own home and fill it with all the great items and pieces that I see in the movies.

Hope you have a great day!

P.S. Little Cloe is doing slightly better today, but is still coughing up a lung and in a horrible mood. More cuddles and less everything else today to get her feeling better.
